Bhutan Currency is Ngultrum (Nu). The rate is as same as Indian Rupee (INR).
As of June 2011, the exchange rate of US dollar to Nu is about US$1 : 45-46 Nu.
*US$100 generates a better rate than in smaller demoniation.

Return ticket between Bangkok (BKK) to Paro (PBH) is about US$900 per person.
In July & August, there may have a 30% discount on BKK-PBH flight. Around US$650 per person.
$$$$ Wire Transfer
If you are using local tour agency, you'd probably need to send the tour fee & air ticket fee via wire transfer. According to the policy of Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB), the tour payment has to be wired to its offical bank account in advance. Then, they will release the money to your local tour agency upon completion of your Bhutan trip (after departure). This policy secures travellers' money in the hand of Government.
Most cases, money will be sent to TCB's Bhutan National Bank account under CitiBank in New York. Some agencies will charge 2 times bank transfer fee when you pay your deposit & balance.
