Name: Sonam Pelden
Age: 25 - 30
City: Thimphu
Years of Experience: 8 years
Sonam is a young, energetic and handsome guide (<- I guess this is most important comment that he wants to hear! :-p). He is very helpful and friendly. He is very knowledgeable about the culture and history of Bhutan. He also told us many Buddhism storys and let us have more fundamental background when visiting different temples (Dzongs).
He was an archer before being a tour guide. That's why he is very strong. I was told that he did carry 1 of his guest up and downhill during trekking.
Our Driver
Name: Nima Yezor
Age: 20 - 25
Nima is a quite person. However, he is very gentle and he pays attention to details. Whenever he spotted / sensed me want to take a photo, he will slow down his car or try to pull off at the side of the road. I appreciate a lot of his gentleness.
Besides, Nima has an excellent driving skill. The roads in Bhutan are very bumpy. The mountain roads are narrow and not well paved. He changed the gear (manual) whenever there are holes, rocks, and even cows or horse on the road.
